Preparation before getting your tattoo
Personal hygiene! We prefer that you arrive clean for your session! Not just for the artist’s sake, but also for the healing process afterward.
Stay hydrated – drink at least 2 liters of water daily in the days leading up to your appointment. High hydration helps your body keep the skin moist, making it more receptive to ink. Furthermore, proper hydration helps your skin withstand the strain of getting tattooed.
Get a good night’s sleep so you feel fresh and rested when you arrive. Sleep is essential for handling the time under the needle. We also strongly recommend avoiding alcohol in the days before your appointment. It’s not fun for you or us if you’re getting tattooed with a hangover and thinned blood.
Eat well in the days leading up to your appointment to fuel up your energy reserves. Eat plenty of fruit and try to consume as much vitamin C as possible. Vitamin C is good for your immune system, making the healing process easier and improving your general well-being.
Have a good meal before you come in for your appointment. Your body will handle it better if it’s filled with energy. It's also a good idea to bring snacks, fruit, and possibly sugary drinks to maintain stable blood sugar levels throughout the session.
Consider bringing entertainment for long sessions. For larger projects, it may be a good idea to bring entertainment to distract yourself from the tattoo process. Feel free to bring music, movies, a book, or anything else you can think of. Otherwise, you can let us entertain you.
